Public Archaeology Dig at Gatewood Plantation

Saturday, April 17th 11am – 2pm. Must call for reservations. The History Center has conducted archaeology research on this site which is now recognized by the National Park Service as a site on the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom. The site honors Henry Bibb who escaped enslavement by William Gatewood and described by Bibb in his own narratives. Participation is free, call 502.222.0826 to reserve your spot!
