Plan to STAY just outside the city and SAVE with our LOW hotel room taxes! With all Hotels being on I-71 at Exit 22, Oldham County has become a favorite overnight destination for those wanting to stay outside the City, as well as add VALUE to their Mystery Tours – especially those with repeat travelers, and visitors to The Ark Encounter!
We are the PERFECT Hub & Spoke destination and regularly entertains groups of all sizes! We are known for our small town value, referred for our attention to detail & perks, and loved for our own BIG Kentucky attractions. As a matter of fact, Oldham County has over 10 attractions that you’ll find in ONE PLACE in Kentucky – Only in Oldham!
Here in Oldham County you’ll find Craft Bourbon Tours & Tastings, Kentucky’s ONLY Meadery Tours with Tastings, 13 Farm Tours (5 horse farms!), very walkable Botanical Gardens, Underground Railroad History Experiences recognized by the National Park Service, and a very walkable Trains on historic Main Street shopping and dining district!
Did we mention that all of our horse farm tours allow touching – a rarity in Kentucky! Speaking of horses, read about Oldham County’s contributions to the Kentucky Derby – we can include these in your Oldham County Group Itinerary, available ONLY through the Tourism office!
Conveniently located outside the bustle of the city, we are close enough to still include such regional attractions as the Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs, the Louisville Slugger Museum, or the Ali Center, and the NEW Roots 101 African American Museum, in our itineraries!
Our Group Travel references speak for themselves, just ask us for them!
The Oldham County town of La Grange was featured in the new HGTV series, “Home Town Kickstart” that premiered April 24th, 2022. As usual, we include time on Main Street in La Grange where you’ll find shopping & dining as part of our Oldham County Group Tour Itineraries!
NOTE: As with all small towns, a tour group beyond the normal local crowd can catch small restaurants and shops off guard, and we don’t want that to happen to you! Be sure to chat with Kim Hydes, Executive Director of Oldham County Tourism (below), for help booking your visits to La Grange to ensure that your time with us is FABULOUS! Keep in mind that many mom-and-pop shops and restaurants in Kentucky are closed on Sundays and Mondays.
