July 4th FUN in Oldham County!

It’s almost time for the fireworks to begin in Oldham County! There are several spots to catch all of the action this year as the night sky explodes in vibrant colors and sounds. And don’t miss out on some pre-fireworks action as well as keeping the Independence Day momentum going with a great 4th of July themed race/walk on July 9. Something can be found at these events to make everyone happy – food, inflatables, games, bouncies and music – it’s all happening ONLY in Oldham County! 

 

Hope Church Summer Blast 2022

This FREE event will have all of the cookout food, fireworks and FUN you can fit into one day! Organizers have planned a great day with inflatables, games, and more! Bring your family and friends and have a BLAST on Independence Day in Pewee Valley!

Prospect’s 4th of July Community Celebration

Saturday, July 4 starting at 6 p.m.

This FREE community celebration and fireworks extravaganza kicks off with a parade at 6 p.m. Fireworks will begin at dusk (approx. 9:40 p.m.). Included will be music by The Swing Street Big Band, DJ Daniel Block, train rides and bouncey houses for the kids, Independence Day freebies, Kona Ice frozen treats, Cafe 502 and Ramiro’s Cantina food trucks.

La Grange Springs Park & Fireworks and Grand Opening

Fourth of July events Friday, July 1 – Sunday, July 3

FREE 4th of July fun kicks off early in La Grange on July 1 at 6 p.m. with the dedication of the long awaited La Grange Springs Park. This will be followed with music by The Decades, one of America’s premier party bands. If you like to dance and sing along with your favorite tunes, this is the band for you! Food Truck options include Burnout BBQ, Fitz Freeze, and Royal Couture Treats. Fun children’s activities include a water slide and bouncy house. As a special treat, the splash pad at the park will be open Friday – Sunday! On Saturday, July 2, the La Grange Farmer’s Market & Artisans will take up permanent residency at the park and a fireworks display will start at 9:30 p.m. Bring chairs or blankets.

15th Annual Firecracker 5K Run/Walk

Saturday, July 9, starting at 8 a.m.
Schamback Park
Westport, KY
Registration fee is $40 and closes on Friday, July 8 at 2 p.m.

Although it takes place several days after July 4, this run/walk still celebrates the holiday. Join Oldham County Parks and Recreation for the 15th annual Firecracker 5K Run/Walk which will start and finish at Schamback Park. Packet pickup and day of registration is Saturday, July 9 from 7 – 7:50 a.m. at the shelter in Schamback Park. Awards are given in a variety of age groups and all participants receive a T-shirt and a finish medal. Awards will be presented, and on-line registration is available.

Enjoy some movie time on the 4th or any day of the week! The popular Minions:  The Rise of Gru starts at 9:30 p.m. and tells the origin story of how Gru, the world’s greatest supervillain, first met his iconic characters. This flick is followed by the American science fiction action film Jurassic World Dominion at 11:15 p.m. Gates open at 8 p.m. Friday – Saturday. Enjoy a couple of great movies for the entire family.
