Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve‘s Comprehensive Environmental Educational Programs are well loved and reaches thousands of children each year! Class instruction is provided by their instructors and focuses on children’s relationships with nature. Includes: Day trips, week-long camps, & customized half-day environmental science classes.

Openrange Sports

Openrange Sports (Paintball Reball Arena) features an 11,000 square foot indoor paintball reball arena built for beginners. It utilizes cutting edge design to create the fun-est experience possible. Play rain or shine on this course. It’s all INDOORS with speedball bunkers and a sound system that will blow their hair back (be sure to bring your own iPod or iPhone).  Get a Group together and hit the battlefield!

Oldham County History Center Campus

Oldham County History Center Campus offers classes based on 2 Underground Railroad designations by the National Park Service’s Network to Freedom. National Park Service Junior Ranger badges are available! Hands-on demonstrations, re-enactors, and history museum.

Harvest Home Dairy Farm

Harvest Home Dairy farm tours are great for all ages! From school kids, families, church groups, civic groups, and senior adults, everyone has something to learn and enjoy at our all-American dairy farm. A tour for all ages! Milk a cow. Feed a calf a bottle. Watch cheesemaking! Meeting room available, too!

Bluebonnets & Bluegrass Alpaca Farm

Bluebonnets & Bluegrass Alpaca Farm is owned by fiber artist, Denise Coonley and her husband, Rusty. She wanted to raise alpaca. One alpaca turned to two. Two turned to four! The next thing she knew it, she was raising alpaca and learning to create gorgeous fabrics from their wool…including learning to dye it herself! Enjoy the tour

Acorn Lane Farm & Petting Zoo

Acorn Lane Farm & Petting Zoo is an 11-acre micro-farm with full petting zoo! Since 1899 Boone Gardiner Nursery has been known for landscaping and ornamental horticulture. They’ve added alpacas, goats, chickens, peacocks, rabbits, horses, donkeys, turkey, pot belly pigs, sheep, bees and more. Visit the diverse vegetable garden that grows veggies for Boone Gardiner’s CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) clients. Also, learn about animals, plants, farm life, and how so many cool things can happen on a tiny farm!

Yew Dell Botanical Gardens

Yew Dell Botanical Gardens offers outdoor things-to-do for all ages! Scavenger Hunts that search the grounds for special objects and see how observant you really are. A successful search wins a prize! Backpactivities – grab a backpack, hit the grounds and have a blast while they catch crawly critters, find Fred & Frieda Frog, bump into the Beaver Bunch, and hone in on a hovering hummingbird! Fairy Forest Village is hidden deep in the serpentine garden in a collection of conifers. And last but not least, Bag, Book & Blanket. Are books your bag? Well they have both, plus a blanket! Check out a book or two from their free library, find a comfy spot and start reading.
