Romantic Memories Made Only in Oldham, KY

Come Rekindle the Memories… and Make New Ones

Oldham Horse Farm Stays are Perfect for Romance in the Country

A romantic bed & breakfast getaway in Oldham KYIf we were to admit it, sometimes life happens and we just need to carve out a little one-on-one time with our sweeties. Sometimes the one relationship we love the most needs some attention, and Oldham County, KY is the perfect place to reconnect with that special someone! At our award-winning Beds & Breakfasts, you’ll love a weekend with Cheryl at Bluegrass Country Estate B&B, or Jeff at The Inn at Spring Run Farm or Michelle at Pillow and Paddock Bed & Breakfast! You can’t go wrong with these 3!

No matter which B&B you choose, do yourself a favor before you come.  Book one of our Oldham Farm Tours, and be sure to also book a nice dinner at Kentucky’s only restaurant of its kind, Barn8 restaurant at Hermitage Farm, and enjoy an unforgettable treat of meals prepared from the farm, a top-notch bourbon bar, and enjoy an after-dinner walk through ArtWalk – their light exhibit through the woods of the farm. Not interested in dinner, book their horse farm tour and have a picnic lunch on the farm! A nice one-of-a-kind afternoon or evening can be had at Hermitage!

The Inn at Spring Run Farm Oldham County KYIf a quiet getaway tucked back behind the trees with plenty of room to roam sounds great, opt for The Inn at Spring Run Farm. If you want to escape to another time, The Inn at Spring Run Farm will be perfect with its log walls, original ash floors, and luxurious bathrooms! Another unique amenity is the true Kentucky food prepared by Jeff, your innkeeper, a trained chef! Located at the same exit (exit 14 off I-71), you will want to pre-book your Tour & Tasting at Kentucky Artisan Distillery then go across the tracks for couple’s range time at Open Range Sports where you can shoot pistols or machine guns…yes, machine guns…before your bourbon tasting, of course!  Follow it up with dinner at Rikishi Japanese & Bar or visit 3rd Turn Brewing Oldham Gardens where you will find both beer and mead with Backside Grille on the property. 3rd Turn is a huge outdoor beer garden in connecting greenhouses! They are on the same street as Yew Dell Botanical Gardens and Kentucky Artisan Distillery.

Bluegrass Country Estate Oldham County KYAt some point you will NOT want to leave this little slice of Oldham KY heaven known as Bluegrass Country Estate B&B! You can enjoy an in-ground pool, outdoor hot tub, theater room with movies and custom recliners, a fire pit, acreage to walk around, a gym, and a pool table. If on any night you just want to “be,” grab dinner at Ernestos on Main Street, One Nineteen West Main, Hometown Pizza, or Main Street Bourbon & Ale House before checking in to the B&B, then just stay there. Head downstairs for a movie on the big screen and have a glass of wine or a beer while you play pool.

Sleep-in the next morning, then enjoy a full gourmet breakfast before heading out for the afternoon. First, to walk off that huge breakfast from your B&B, stop at La Grange Coffee Roasters for a cup of coffee or tea to go. then, start on one side of the street and make your way around both sides of the very walkable La Grange Main Street District. While you’re walking in the shops and galleries, you’ll see the train pass beside you several times. La Grange is the ONLY town in the world with a running train ON its Main Street! You will definitely feel the rumble before you see it!

If you are interested in history, you must stop by the Oldham County History Museum at the end of Main Street. Oldham received 2 Underground Railroad designations from the National Park Service Network to Freedom! You can stroll the museum to learn about Oldham’s famous residents: DW Griffith, Annie Fellows Johnston, Rob Morris, and slave abolishist, Henry Bibb. You can also “hop on” our new life-size bronze sculpture of WWII Veteran and national spokesperson, Dr. Bruce Heilman, on his Marine issue Harley Davidson motorcycle – known as “Road Warrior.” Also featured is an exhibit by the Kentucky State Reformatory. You’ll want a light snack in the afternoon, so I recommend Q&A Sweet Treats Bakery… I highly recommend the molasses cookies, or whoopie pies, or caramel nut bars, or fresh baked breads, or…the list goes on!

A weekend in Oldham County is not complete without one of our famous Oldham Farm Tours    April – October. If you are coming in off months, send us a message through chat to see if any farms are offering tours! You will find alpaca, a dairy making cheese, bison, conservation foodie farms, and of course, horse farms!
